Welcome to F1 Minute for the 23rd January 2009.

Today it appears that the FIA superlicence is under fire again, with Autosport reporting that the drivers are refusing to pay. Apparently the GPDA is involved, ready to try and get the price lowered, and telling drivers not to sign the licences until it is sorted. The matter is also on the agenda for the next FOTA meeting, which will be on February 3rd.

Elsewhere, Adrian Sutil believes that the involvement of McLaren Mercedes in his team will help Force India move up the grid this year. Whilst they struggled to get out of the first session of qualifying in 2008, Sutil says he thinks and hopes they can start finishing in the top ten and regularly scoring points.

Finally, Webber has said that he wants to stick with Red Bull for the long term, and said his recovery is on schedule – although he’ll only be 80% by the time the season starts – that’s enough.
