This is F1 Minute for the 3rd April.
It has been an utterly ridiculous day for news in Formula 1, so here are the headlines:

  • BMW have officially joined the diffuser appeal. After their initial protest was bounced back for technical reasons, they’ve applied to join the hearing on the 14th.
  • Rosberg was fastest in FP1 and Raikkonen in FP2. Notably, the Ferrari driver stopped in the morning due to a KERS malfunction which saw the cockpit fill with some kind of smoke.
  • McLaren have confirmed that, they have suspending sporting director and long time team member Dave Ryan. Hamilton has apologised but says he is not a liar. The FIA have not ruled out further penalties.
  • Alonso is not well, suffering from an ear infection, and he completed minimal running today. He believes he’ll be 100% by Sunday, but maybe only 90% on Saturday.
  • And Barrichello will drop 5 places from wherever he qualifies due to a gearbox change.

That’s it for today, please join me tomorrow and we’ll find out who’s on pole.
