The first race of 2010 has been and gone, and given the volume of information coming out of Twitter, I’m narrowing this week’s Tweets of the Week down to solely drivers and teams. It was an amazing race, watching the teams be so open, and I hope they can keep it up all year.
- Great to get back to some sunshine, +25C 9am in bahrain! Gonna rush to the track after breakfast to check out the new circuit layout… Heikki Kovalainen
- Heikki off playing golf again. Don’t know where the course is but there are plenty of bunkers around Mike Gascoyne
- It’s like the first day of term here. But without anyone trying to steal your lunch money. Or at least not trying very hard… Red Bull F1 Spy
- This usually is the longest night of the race weekend: engineers and mechanics are working hard to prepare the cars for tomorrow and Sunday. Inside Ferrari
- Yesterday went pretty well, tried different fuel loads and compared the two compounds of tyres we have here.. It’s good to be back racing!! Jenson Button
- I’ve only just clocked the lack of firesuits for the crew in qualy. No wonder the boys don’t look so hot! Renault F1
- Objective was to get points in the first race of the season. Would have been nice if both our drivers made it to the top 10 though. Force India

Everyone is gearing up for the season to begin. The teams returned from Barcelona and got everything together to ship off to Bahrain. Plus, HRT became the newest team to launch a car.
- Everyone back from testing now (I think the boys are due a well deserved rest having had about 4 hrs sleep per night for the last month!) Claire Williams
- Seen some news from finnish media about lotus/minardi, comments taken out of context, not fair for our team, gonna combat it big time now! Heikki Kovalainen
- Hamilton thinks that we are going to be competitive this year. Flattering to be honest. We’re working towards fulfilling expectations. Force India
- had some regular check ups today and play bowling with the Barrichello’s…grandpa is 83 and still on big form…206 points today for him Rubens Barrichello
- freight leaves tomorrow midnight! 25t of equipment to go to Bahrain! boys are working hard! Lotus Racing
- Finally it’s official !! I am a Formula 1 driver !! Karun Chandhok
- In the middle of the press conference for the team’s presentation in Murcia! Will try to post pics of the car asap!! Bruno Senna
- Shame that fellow Oxford United supporter Ian Phillips has left Jordan (and subsequent incarnations). Don’t think he’ll be out of F1 long… James Roberts
- Maximum attack coding today. A week from now and the Bahrain GP will be in the record books. The off-season used to be much longer I’m sure! Geoff Creighton
- Sooo excited that a week today we’ll have our first race winner of 2010! Lots of extra live F1 stats available online during races this year Jake Humphrey

Pre-season testing concluded this week in Barcelona, allowing teams and drivers to attempt to draw conclusions from their work. Preparations for Bahrai get underway, oh, and Mark Webber joined Twitter!
- On my way to the airport in a taxi, playing golf on my ipod, scored 54 on pebble beach! Wicked eagles all the time, I wish it was real… Heikki Kovalainen
- lot’s of questions about car:I quite like it…also the engine seems strong.Still very dificult to draw a conclusion about the others… Rubens Barrichello
- Good days work still learning loads about new wagon,team performing well,I have the feeling it going to be tight in the middle east!! Mark Webber
- Been note-making all night…my own version of pre-season training. Beats using medicine balls and running up hills!! Nightx Jake Humphrey
- Morning twts ! Today we have breakfast with Sir Richard and he will follow the tests after that. He might have a go on the car later! Hehe Lucas di Grassi

With four more days of Jerez testing to cover, the teams, drivers and media were tweeting like crazy to cover all the action – or lack of it due to the weather.
- The weather wasn’t good and it is getting worse. Next year it would be more efficient to go in another warmer and drier country for testing. Inside Ferrari
- tough to know who is fast.Hamilton was running heavy and towards the back.Took fuel out and put the fastest time.Bahrain we will understand Rubens Barrichello
- It’s sunny. Then it’s rainy. Then it’s sunny. Now it’s rainy. Someone pass the VR wellies. Virgin Racing
- Seb top of the timesheets today and as usual driving like a man with his underpants on fire. He doesn’t really get the concept of ‘testing’. Red Bull F1 Spy
- Had a positive day yesterday at MTC.. Spent about 8hrs in the Simulator working through some different set ups. Jenson Button
- TEarly morning here in Jerez and dry at the moment. Mechanics worked on the car until 3.00am in the morning. All ready to go Mike Gascoyne
- Went to gym as the day got short for us, kicked myself in the butt after todays error! Now we are over it and tomorrow we attack even harder Heikki Kovalainen
- Red Bull, Ferrari & McLaren look strong. Hulk’s Williams fractionally faster than Schumacher Mercedes, but a lot of variation in fuel load. Steve Slater
- Jenson B also reckons Ferrari are the strongest team right now. He said: “They have better consistency than anyone at the moment.” Sarah Holt
- Spoke to Colin Kolles earlier today about his plans for Campos. Sounds like he’s got a bit of a job on to get two cars to Bahrain Adam Cooper

Twitter continued to guide us through testing at Jerez, even if it was slightly subdued due to the weather. We also had three launches, so there was plenty to be discussed.
- Wind tunnel apparently spent the w/e working through brake duct improvements to find a bit more cooling for the ultra-high brake tracks. Claire Williams
- This week Jerez will give everyone a better idea who is really fast. Ferrari seemed better than others but we have to wait. Rubens Barrichello
- At Jerez doing some pre test video footage for our title sponsor Vodafone, heading out for a circuit run with Physio Mikey in a mo! Jenson Button
- Saying hello to Ferrari’s new Spanish driver in the hotel lift. He’s quite small in real life… But he said hi back. So he’s got manners. Red Bull F1 Spy
- Rain in Jerez is getting worse and worse… Nico Hulkenberg
- The entire Lotus team is now enjoying a ‘bonding’ party in central London. Everyone came on coaches from Norfolk, even Sue the cleaner! Adam Cooper
- The parts are about to arrive on (not so dry) land and they should be fitted in the next couple of hours. Looking to fire up around 3! :) Virgin Racing
- Adrian’s initial comments: The car is good and I think it’s a positive place to start. I’m very confident on the general speed of the car. Force India
- Asked Vettel what the problem was and got a shrug of the shoulders and a smile – looked like can’t say rather than don’t know! Edd Straw
- Piquet made an impressive NASCAR Truck debut at Daytona yesterday. He finished 6th and ran as high as 2nd. Maybe he’s found his calling? Lawrence Barretto

This week’s tweeting has been absolutely epic, with lots of insiders following testing and giving us great insight into what has been happening. We also had a couple of new team launches, so opinions were everywhere.
- A good feeling in the team after the first day of testing. Felipe’s first impressions are positive: a better beginning compared to last year. Inside Ferrari
- Williams are not launching as such, when the car rolls out at 10am, that will be its debut. Claire Williams
- STR5 was wheeled into pit lane at 9.05 and the photographers did their stuff. Special guest? Schumacher was having a good look at our car. Toro Rosso Spy
- My new car is just about to turn it’s first wheel in anger at Valencia… Wish I had a live feed!! Jenson Button
- Four kilometers of cueue to get into the circuit… It is Alonso mania at Valencia with more than 30,000 people attending the testing session. Inside Ferrari
- Already in barcelona! I really think we have a great car! This season will be exciting! Ou yesssssaaa! Jaime Alguersuari
- Mr Wirth’s Virgin car looks very IRL to me. Hope it doesn’t only turn left. Shakedown is at Silverstone and the pit exit’s a right! Will Buxton
- Forecast for Jerez is 60% chance of rain all four days. Not good news for Red Bull, Force I and Virgin who have first runs on new cars. James Allen
- Lots of tweets about Mercedes and Ferrari copying our chassis design. All rubbish: do they have propellers and a flamethrower? I think not… Red Bull F1 Spy
- Good that Anthony Davidson is back on the BBC in 2010. Last year I invested in a Kangaroo TV, so I could hear Ant and Crofty every session. Adam Cooper

As Twitter takes off as a real means of communication, we’ve seen drivers, journalists and team members embracing 140 characters to connect with the fans. Each week, we’ll pick out the top ten F1 tweets for an added insight into life in the fast lane.
- Mercedes launch kicked off with video of Schumacher driving a red SLR and opening door with a wink. A cheeky nod to his Ferrari past. Alan Baldwin
- Mid chat with Nico Hulk who is extremely over excited about the start of the season, and looking v fit following his Malaysian boot camp. Claire Williams
- I’m here at Virgin Racing team having a look at the car. Everybody is pushing really hard to do the best work possible. Lucas di Grassi
- Doing an interview with Nico for Autosport now. Photoshoot in reception; don’t think I’ll get him outside, too cold for racing drivers! Claire Williams
