Webber is confident of recovery progress

Today is the 3rd February 2009 and this is F1Minute.

We’ve got another update on Mark Webber’s progress, with the Australian quietly confident that things are going well. He says: “The results over the last few weeks have been incredible. We had a really good week last week, so we’re really positive… dare I say it, we’re probably a little bit ahead of schedule.” The treatment that seems to have made the difference is spending time in a cryogenic chamber, that means three minutes at -130 degrees C. Now that’s dedication.

Elsewhere, Heidfeld has admitted that he’s not constantly thinking about winning his first race, but only because he has bigger ambitions than that. He said: “After all, it’s my goal to win the title and not just a race. Should the car have what it takes to win the title, I can make it.” He adds that he thinks their improvements last year will make the jump to 2009 easier, and the car won’t disappoint.

That’s it for today, please join me again tomorrow with another F1Minute.
