Alonso leads day four in Jerez
Posted by Christine Blachford on
Today is the 4th March 2009 and this is F1Minute.
Alonso led the way in Jerez today, beating next place Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari by three tenths of a second. There was more bad weather, with a couple of showers and some strong winds, however most teams got some good running in. Hamilton completed the lowest number of laps – 70 – due to a problem with the rear suspension on his McLaren. Sutil, meanwhile, was complaining of some serious graining on the slick tyres. Unfortunately, they won’t have chance to investigate further this week, as this was the final day for Force India and Renault, whilst the others continue tomorrow.
Elsewhere, USF1 have had to change the name of their team to US Grand Prix Engineering, after FOM objected to their use of F1. Although Bernie doesn’t actually own the trademark, despite his best efforts, he continues to put his foot down. Force India were also required to change their logo, as the FI looked too much like F1.
That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
