This is F1Minute for the 5th November 2007. I’m Christine from Sidepodcast, and these are your top headlines for today.

It emerged on Saturday that Renault have definitely offered Fernando Alonso a seat for 2008, providing that he is in it for the long haul and not just a stopover for one year. Flavio Briatore has presented Alonso with a plan for the future, and is now waiting for the driver to make his decision.

Jarno Trulli, Alonso’s former Renault team mate now at Toyota, has let slip that Alonso has been in contact with the Japanese team, and would be requesting personnel changes if he decides to sign with them.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton revealed potential team mates for 2008, citing Nico Rosberg, Heikki Kovalainen or Adrian Sutil as the drivers he would expect to see joining him at McLaren. Williams immediately hit back, though, reminding everyone involved that Rosberg has a contract for 2008, and an option for 2009. CEO of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh, told the Guardian that he believed they were dictating the driver market, and could afford to wait.

That’s all for today, please join me tomorrow for another F1Minute.
