Autosport International Day 2 special
Posted by Christine Blachford on
It’s the 9th January, and this is a special F1Minute for Autosport International Day 2.
There have been a few more paddock faces taking to the stage in Birmingham, including Ron Dennis who isn’t impressed with Donington Park’s plans. The McLaren boss said: “I really do struggle to understand how the economics of Donington will work. They have had a 25% swing in the dollar and the contract will be a dollar-based contract.” He added: “I don’t understand how we are going to get in and out of the place, although I can tell you, I will be in a helicopter!”
Elsewhere, veteran ex-commentator Murray Walker has tipped Robert Kubica for the title in 2009, saying: “They’re a mighty switched on organisation, BMW, they make cracking road cars and I am full of admiration and respect for what they’ve done.”
Finally, Paul di Resta admits his chances of getting into F1 for this year are now very slim, but he is simply happy to be involved with McLaren, despite having no plans for the coming season.
That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with more from Birmingham.
