It’s the 14th May 2009 and this is F1Minute.

The FIA, FOTA and Bernie Ecclestone are set to meet tomorrow to discuss the budget cap regulations. We can only hope they come to some agreement, as Ferrari have assured us their quit threat is not a bluff, and the only manufacturers steering clear of a boycott are BMW, and Mercedes Benz. Motorsport boss at Mercedes, Norbert Haug has said that quitting the sport hasn’t even crossed the company’s mind.

In other news, BMW have said they will run a new and improved KERS system at the race after next in Turkey, with no device installed for Monaco. Renault, meanwhile, will be taking the next few weeks to decide whether KERS will reappear on their cars for Turkey, after they’ve had a good look at the data.

Finally, Jenson Button will be taking part in the London Triathlon on 1st August to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It’s at the start of the summer break, so he’ll have plenty of time to recover for the following race in Valencia.
