Horner says pressure on RBR increased

Welcome to F1Minute for the 20th April 2009.
Following on from their maiden victory and solid 1-2 finish in China, Christian Horner has admitted that although it’s a relief to get the first win out the way, it actually increases the pressure to win again. Speaking to Autosport, he said: “Your expectations change, so a result like this really puts us on the map and people take us seriously now.”
Martin Whitmarsh is taking them seriously, and says that to finish fifth and sixth in China was excellent considering they were nowhere near the pace of the podium three. He defended Hamilton’s spins by suggesting if you’re pushing hard then things like that are bound to happen, and he praised Kovalainen’s performance by saying he didn’t make a single mistake in the race.
Finally, Toyota are looking ahead to Bahrain, and believe they will have an advantage due to the extra testing they did there over the winter. I wonder if the same can be said for Ferrari.
That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
