FIA win court hearing over Ferrari
Posted by Christine Blachford on
Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 20th May 2009.
It was confirmed today that Ferrari lost their hearing against the FIA and the 2010 regulations. The FIA took the news well, naturally, and hit out at the team suggesting they’re putting their own interests above those of the sport as a whole. Ferrari didn’t go quietly, saying they are choosing their next step carefully, and also suggesting that the new teams trying to enter the sport may not be of the best quality.
On that subject, five new teams confirmed they’d be entering for 2010 - Epsilon Euskadi, Ray Mallock Limited, Campos Racing, Formtech and Wirth Research. Formtech were the company who bought up Super Aguri’s assets when they folded last year.
Meanwhile, this whole mess has worried the drivers. Webber is concerned how the image of F1 is suffering, and Alonso is nervous for the future. Raikkonen though, has pledged to stick with Ferrari whether they’re in F1 or not.
That’s it for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another F1Minute.
