The FIA have issued a statement today confirming that following a meeting a with the GPDA, they will reduce the superlicence fees from 2010. Although no figures were released, the World Motorsport Council will be asked to review the fees given the fact that so much cost cutting is taking place. The FIA have also agreed to meet with the GPDA regularly to try and prevent any arguments in the future.

Meanwhile, Autosport reports that Ferrari will be running their KERS device in Melbourne on both cars. Renault already announced they would be doing so, and BMW have the technology ready but haven’t yet decided.

Talking of Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen is hopeful that his chances will be better this year, saying that he already feels more comfortable in the F60 than he did in the 2008 car. He confirmed: “It’s much more fun to drive and it reminds me more of the cars I was used to some years ago.”
