Welcome to F1Minute - FIA release official calendar for 2012.
The FIA confirmed today the official calendar for the 2012 season with the most important change is that Turkey is no longer on the calendar at all. Australia will get the 20 race calendar underway in mid-March, whilst Brazil gets the season finale on 25th November.
Bahrain is back on the calendar, after being cancelled this year due to political unrest in the country. It is scheduled to be the fourth race of the year.
There are seven back to back weekends - Australia/Malaysia, China/Bahrain, Germany/Hungary, Belgium/Italy, Japan/Korea, India/Abu Dhabi, and the US/Brazil end of year. There are six races in eight weeks to takes us to the end of the season, whilst the summer break sees no racing in August at all. The Hungarian Grand Prix is the only race that clashes with the 2012 Olympics, whilst Le Mans avoids a clash in June.
The only new race on the calendar is the United States Grand Prix, which is confirmed as the penultimate round of the season, on the 18th November.
