This is F1Minute - FIA confirm single DRS zone for the British Grand Prix.

After experimenting with double DRS in both Canada and Valencia, the FIA have confirmed that the British Grand Prix will just have a single DRS zone, with the activation point coming between turns 4 and 5. Race Director Charlie Whiting had been considering two DRS zones but has chosen the single zone strategy ahead of the race.

With this change back to a proven overtaking device, plus the ban on blown diffusers coming into effect, teams are starting to wonder how they will perform over the weekend. Renault are confident they can adapt quickly, with team boss Eric Boullier saying: “It will definitely affect every single team, and it’s up to us and our engineers to cope better than our competitors with the changes.”

Meanwhile, Jarno Trulli and Rubens Barrichello think their respective teams will be able to get closer to the competition. Barrichello says: “I think the new rules won’t change the top ten much. They might lose something but it might not change the places very much, but it might help other teams such as Williams to come a bit closer. How much, I don’t know.”
