This is F1Minute - Marussia reveal findings of Duxford crash investigation.
The accident at the Duxford Airfield straight line test has been under investigation by the Health and Safety Executive in the UK, plus an independent body, but the Marussia team have issued a statement today with their findings.
Two weeks after the incident occurred, the team have concluded that the accident was not due to a problem on the car. They made preliminary investigations to this point so as not to compromise safety and continue racing at the British Grand Prix, but after further detailed work, team principal John Booth has said: “We are satisfied that the findings of our internal investigation exclude the car as a factor in the accident... We have now concluded our investigatory work and can again focus on the priority, which continues to be María’s wellbeing.”
The last medical update from the hospital, several days ago, shared the relatively good news that María’s sedation had been reduced and she was awake, alert and talking with her family.
