Renault admit to considering Raikkonen for 2011

Hello, welcome to F1Minute, it’s Wednesday the 29th September.

Some of the news circulating recently involves ex-F1 Champion Kimi Raikkonen, who has apparently approached Renault about returning to the grid in 2011. The team have confirmed Robert Kubica in the car, and are still evaluating Vitaly Petrov - and apparently now Raikkonen as well. Team principal Eric Boullier says: “...Kimi remains one of our scenarios. I have said many times that I want to meet with him first before we do anything more. I want to understand more about his wish to come back.” And of Petrov, he added: “It is definitely not a money issue. It is only the understanding for him to fit in F1.”

Meanwhile, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has been addressing the troops, and

told the factory he is proud of all of them. Stefano Domenicali isn’t getting carried away though, saying: “Having been confronted with making up as big a gap as the one we faced just over two months ago, the effort becomes even more arduous as one gets closer to our goal, and when every point seems as heavy as a rock.”
