There were three full days of testing completed at the Silverstone circuit last week, with limited incident and for once, no interruptions because of the weather. With full sunshine over the track, a mixture of young and old drivers took their chance to get some mileage under their belts.
The first day say McLaren fastest with Danish driver Kevin Magnussen, whilst Paul di Resta and Max Chilton took to the track in their respective cars, splitting the day’s running with young drivers.
On day two, the attention was firmly placed on Daniel Ricciardo as he spent the morning with current team Toro Rosso and switched to hopeful team Red Bull in the afternoon. It was only a few laps before he spun off track, and he was more cautious after that, but finished the day with the fastest time.
On the final run of testing, Susie Wolff completed 89 laps for a successful day of running, whilst Sebastian Vettel returned to the top of the timesheets in the Red Bull. Overall, Marussia seemed to have a few mechanical niggles, whilst Caterham completed the most laps, more than 300 across the three days.
