You can now include F1 Minute on your blog, forum, social network, or any other website you please. If you want to keep your readers up-to-date with the latest in Formula 1 happenings then this may be just the thing you’re looking for.

Updated each week day, F1 Minute provides 60 seconds of rapid and concise Formula 1 news. It’s free to use and straight to the point, simply follow the instructions below to get started.

Update: This player is also now available as a WordPress Widget.

Update: This player is also now available as a Facebook application.

We currently offer three types of player, the compact, the mini and the extended:

The Compact Player

To use the compact player, simply copy the following code and paste it into your site:

The compact player will play the latest show when you hit the play button. You can also skip forward and back between episodes using buttons 2 & 3. This player works well when located within a sidebar or page header.

The Mini Player

To use the mini player, simply copy the following code and paste it into your site:

The mini player will play the latest show when you click on the F1 Minute logo. This player works well when located within a sidebar where space is a premium, and currently features on the sidebar.

The Extended Player

To use the extended player, simply copy the following code and paste it into your site:

The extended player allows for easier episode navigation, along with a simple description of the news covered in the episode. This player works well within the main body of a page, and offers clearer navigation. We’re currently testing the extended player out on our myspace page.

The Extended Player (with alternate image)

To use the extended player (with alternate image), simply copy the following code and paste it into your site:

The alternate image player displays a chequered flag logo and is designed for anyone wishing to show a generic image. We’re considering making this (or something similar) the default image for the F1 Minute player, so any feedback would be most welcome.

Customising Your Player

Changing the autostart parameter to true will mean the episode starts playing as soon as the page loads. We’ll be adding further customisation options in the future, if you have specific requirements, do tell us by commenting below.

Please note. Although we don’t explicitly require that you provide a link, we would very much appreciate it if you could provide a link back to:

Further Information

If you have any questions, suggestions or have experienced problems relating anything here, please leave your comments below. We’re planning to enhance and extend the options available in the near future, and all feedback is welcomed.

Any ideas on how to make it work with myspace blog settings??? I’m clueless to be honest… I’d love to have it on my blog, but can’t seem to find out the way, it must work on the profile page though, I’ll try, let me know if you have any solution; by the way, great idea, guys!

Any ideas on how to make it work with myspace blog settings???

we’ve added this to our myspace blog, here’s how we did it (should be similar for you):

    1) go to ‘blog control center’
    2) click the ‘customise blog’ link
    3) find the section marked ‘page header’
    4) copy one of the F1 Minute code blocks from above
    5) paste the code into the ‘your own header html’ textbox
    6) click the ‘update’ button

hopefully that work for you. yell if you need more info.

I think this is an awesome feature too, still struggling to get my blog fully podcast enabled – let alone share the Podcast feeds like this. I just do not even understand the language like enclosures etc etc -the twitter looks to becoming the big news though – yet a hugely simply idea. This was easy to implement on the blog. Keep the good work up.

Bravo !! I’ve been looking long time for something like this. Great!

    quick update…

we’ve added the ability to display a generic image (chequered flag), for anyone not wishing to show any lewis / mclaren favouritism.

we’re still testing it out, and hopefully will add it as an option to both the wordpress and facebook players soon.

  13. Ian Lockwood on Fri, 15th Feb 2008 22:14

Thanks Me – looks good, and working fine! I get all the Lewis I can handle from ITV, so this is a welcome addition!

  14. the Blue Orange Lion on Fri, 15th Feb 2008 22:36

I like the chequered flag better version – no question about it, super duper cool, damn, I can’t express all I’m feeling right now! I’m so excited – I’m in constant heaven but it’s all right in my mind!!!

Ha-ha! the website is in the wrong place in my previous post – that’s because I was jumping with joy on my laptop’s top!

    fixed.

glad you hear you like the changes. player looks good on both your sites :)

  17. theBlueOrangeLion on Sat, 16th Feb 2008 14:29

Thanks for fixing that! I’ve got only one blog – that myspace thing, I just changed the general look a little bit and decided to go back to my artistic roots (that is Dali and Buñuel). Once again – chequered flag version rocks, simply the best!

  18. aljuk on Sat, 23rd Feb 2008 14:06

    Hi, totally love it.

I know flash embedding is a can of worms, but… any advice from your tech team on how I can get the player to validate to XHTML Strict? I’ve tried numerous techniques (Flash Satay, UFO, SWFObject.js etc – all of which work fine when a swf is local to my own server), but to no avail. They all register the existence of the incoming swf, but don’t go any further than the spinning loading icon.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep up your excellent work for the F1 fan community!

  19. me on Sat, 23rd Feb 2008 17:51

personally aljuk, i find xhtml to be a little overrated. standards are all well and good, but if the body that defines those standards moves as slowly as the w3c it’s almost entirely a waste of time.

search engines are smart enough to figure out markup semantics these days, and apart from getting a cute tick from a validator, i’ve no idea what good it does?

  20. aljuk on Tue, 26th Feb 2008 20:46

I’ll take that as a “no” then.

  21. me on Tue, 26th Feb 2008 20:49

haha. sorry, i do love my soapbox sometimes.

    truth is, i haven’t a clue, no :)

  22. Aaron on Sat, 15th Mar 2008 17:30

I love this player and I have it posted on my website. I’m hoping for lots of updates now that the long wait for season ‘08 is over. I use the Hamilton/McLaren version, but I’d switch to the generic pic version if the pic changed randomly with every load.

Hey all, just added this to my blog with a link to your site. Great stuff and thanks. Keep up the great work!

  24. me on Sun, 23rd Mar 2008 17:30

    looks good C.D. Six :)

  25. F1Wolf on Fri, 28th Mar 2008 05:05

the generic design is good idea but would be nice to add some colour to it. now it feels a bit like the player is ready to play some tragic news :-)

I also compressed it to 250 pix width to fit the size of my sidebar.

  26. CLDsport on Tue, 22nd Apr 2008 03:39

    Excellent feature! Thanks.

I’ve added it to my website and given you a fully deserved link to your site.

    Thanks once again for sharing.

hello – I organize an F1 meetup here in NYC – we meet to watch the races live together (it a lonely life in USA to follow F1).

none the less – I was tryng to add your player to our meetup page – doesnt seem to work.. I can embed youtube clips, but when I paste in your code.. I get nothing.

    http://formula1.meetup.com/64/

    cheers, I love the show!

sorry to hear that stefan. the only real difference between youtube clips and our embed code is we don’t usually add a closing </embed> tag.

i’ve amended the first instance on this page (the compact player) to include a fix. could you give that a try and see if it solves the problem please? if it does, then let us know and we’ll do the same for the rest of the players.

    cheers.

I love the idea! Good job! But!… and there is always a But!!!.. It would be very very cool 2 be able 2 change the color background! My page is mostly black! and your player stands out way 2 much! Good 4 you!… but bad 4 me!! LOL!

That being said…if I had the ability 2 change the background I would use a Carbon Fiber pattern which is a theme I created on my site… like I was able 2 do with “Playlist Music Player”

But I am sure you will offer more options like we all want in the future! Feel free 2 contact me or visit my “F1 Babe Page” on myspace where I have you product displayed!

My page is only for F1 fans! That being said I will “Post” your link 2 my 1000 myspace friends! With Pleasure!

    Keep up the Good Work!!

cheers leo, yep you can change the colours but it’s a bit fiddly. we’re trying to make it easier.

in the meantime i’ll contact you directly on myspace and see if we can’t sort something for you.
